Ghana’s Mpox cases jump to 446
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported 22 additional cases of Mpox, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 446 as of August 25, 2025.
Fortunately, there have been no new fatalities or hospital admissions, with the national death toll remaining at one.
This update comes after the GHS noted 37 new cases on August 14, which had raised the total at that time to 409.
Health officials have stressed that Mpox spreads primarily through close contact with those who are infected.
Common symptoms include fever, skin rashes, and swollen lymph nodes.
In light of this situation, the GHS encourages the public to practise good hygiene and to seek prompt medical attention if they experience any warning signs such as fever, headaches, body aches, or rashes.
