Ghana’s coronavirus caseload hits 5,735 with 97 new infections on Saturday

Ghana has recorded a total of 5,735 coronavirus cases with the latest of 97 infections on Saturday, the Ghana Health Service’s latest update  revealed.

The country also recorded its biggest recovery jump from 674 to 1,754 thanks to many patients defeating the virus to regain their health after weeks of being in isolation.

Meanwhile, deaths have also risen by one to 29.

Gender distribution of the cases shows that 62% are males and 38% females.

The Savannah, Bono East and Ahafo regions have recorded no cases.

The Greater Accra region leads the case count with 4, 314 infections.

The regional breakdown of the cases is below:

Ashanti Region – 818

Central Region – 210

Eastern Region – 99

Western Region – 98

Western North Region – 57

Volta Region – 34

Northern Region – 31

Upper East Region – 26

Oti Region – 24

Upper West Region – 21

North East Region – 2

Bono Region – 1
