Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku wins back-to-back Player of the Month awards in England

Former Ghana U23 midfielder Kwame Poku has been named the League One Player of the Month for October after an outstanding run with Peterborough United.

Poku, who won the award in September, netted two goals and delivered four assists in six matches in October to successfully retain the award.

“I am obviously delighted to win the award and over the moon to be able to win it back-to-back. I am happy with how things have been going and it is all about hard work and trying to be as consistent as I can,” he said after receiving the accolade.

“While I didn’t score as many goals last month as the previous one, I am just as happy creating goals as scoring them. Hopefully I can keep those numbers strong during the month of November!”

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson praised the Ghanaian for his contribution to the team this season.

“It is a fantastic achievement for Kwame to win back to back Player of the Month awards and is wonderful recognition for the way that he has performed. He has followed up his form in September with another strong month in October and has been a real threat. He continues to create and score goals for us and is in a really good place at the minute,” said Ferguson.
