Ghanaian dancing Pallbearer figurines selling for $50 a set in Hong Kong
The first people to cash in on the Ghanaian dancing pallbearer’s meme is not even Ghanaian, but a company in China.
As coronavirus turned the world into its playground over the past few weeks, the Prampram based group ‘Nana Otafrija Pall-Bearing Services’ have been on giant billboards, banners and vehicle signage across the world, urging people to stay home or join them as the corpse on their dancing retinue to the cemetery.
They have become an international sensation.
A Chinese company, JMG 1/64 Miniatures, is cashing in on the group’s newfound fame.
The figurines workshop based in Hong Kong has produced figurines selling for $49 and $40 sets.
According to the company’s Facebook page, the figurines can be ordered online with the company offering to ship outside China.
“There are two styles, one is a group of seven people holding the coffin, one is a group of five people kneeling and crawling,” it said.
The pre-sale ends on April 24, orders with shipping to clients the company said expected to start at the end of May.
