U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia E. Palmer, has reaffirmed that the longstanding and robust partnership between Ghana and the United States will endure regardless of the results of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Addressing the press on November 6, 2024, Ambassador Palmer highlighted the strength and resilience of Ghana-US relations, emphasizing that this partnership is built on shared values and mutual interests that transcend changes in U.S. political leadership.

She reassured that the foundation of cooperation between the two nations remains steady, underscoring a commitment to continued collaboration in areas of mutual benefit.

“I am happy to be able to address the press because even in the excitement at the moment, I feel to emphasise that no matter who is the winner today, the United States and the embassy stand ready to deepen the partnership with Ghana.

“We are going to have new administrations in both countries, and Ghana remains the foundational country for the United States in Africa.

“This is my 6th presidential election in my career and I have faithfully served whoever is elected. The relationship with Ghana remains extremely important to the United States even with the change of administration,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has officially secured more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to reclaim the White House, marking his return for a second term after his initial presidency from 2017 to 2021.

With this victory, Trump is now the confirmed winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, a result that underscores his successful comeback bid and signals the start of a new chapter in his leadership.
