Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has announced a 25-man squad for the national U-16 team’s training camp.
The camping set to begin on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Glow Lamp Soccer Academy in Abreshia, near Elmina.
This selection follows a rigorous two-week screening process that included trial matches with lower-tier teams, allowing scouts to evaluate young talents from across the country.
Lamptey, who serves as the head coach, will be supported by a dedicated technical team that includes assistant coach John Oppong Welbeck, former Ghana international Awudu Issaka, and Welfare Manager Theophilus Daitey.
Together, they aim to develop and refine the squad in preparation for their participation in the prestigious Guadeloupe U-16 Invitational Tournament next month.
The tournament will feature prominent youth teams from countries such as Mexico, France, Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Togo, providing Ghana’s young players a valuable opportunity for international exposure.
This experience is expected to be a vital stepping stone in the development of Ghana’s future football stars, offering them a platform to learn, compete, and advance within the ranks of national representation.
The camp will include not only intensive training sessions but also lessons in discipline, teamwork, and national pride as these young athletes prepare to represent their country on the international stage.
