Over the past several weeks, Ghana has experienced a consistent pattern of rainfall, which has led to various consequences and concerns.
The onset of the rainy season typically occurs between April and November, and this period is characterized by increased precipitation.
However, the recent weather patterns have been exceptional in terms of both intensity and duration.
The frequent and persistent rains have caused a range of challenges for communities across the country. Notably, these challenges include flooding, which has led to the displacement of residents, damage to properties, and disruptions in daily life.
Low-lying areas and regions near water bodies have been particularly vulnerable to flooding, and the impact on agriculture, transportation, and infrastructure has been significant.
The torrential rains have also raised concerns about the potential for landslides and erosion in hilly and mountainous areas, further exacerbating the risk to communities.
