Ghana left-back Baba Rahman joins Championship club Reading on loan

Ghana left-back Baba Rahman has completed a season-long loan deal to English Championship side Reading.

The transfer was announced on Friday, surprising many who expected a deal outside England for the rejuvenated defender.

According to Reading, the deal is subject to the normal ratification procedures from the relevant football authorities.

The 27-year-old has represented the Blues in the Premier League and Champions League, as well as bringing with him top-flight experience in Germany, France, Spain and Greece.

He was heavily linked with a return to the Greek side PAOK where he joined an impressive six months last season. He finished the campaign with a trophy.
