Ghana FA Foundation extends support to Akosombo Dam Spillage victims

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Foundation has offered support to clubs of the association and communities in the Volta Region affected by the spillage of water from the Akosombo dam.

The foundation donated an amount of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS100,000.00) to victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage. The money will be used to purchase relief items such as student mattresses, toiletries and food items (rice, gari, sugar and sachet water) and distributed to victims in the heavily affected areas.

The GFA foundation was introduced to support the needy in April 2023 and has in the past helped ailing sports personalities including former Ghana U20 coach, Sellas Tetteh and others.

Following the unfortunate incident, the Ghana FA boss, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku expressed his sympathy to the people and promised to support the people of the Volta Region and Oti.

In doing so, the FA foundation has supported victims of the Akosombo dam spillage with cash donation.

The Volta Regional Football Association will undertake the exercise on behalf of the Ghana Football Association within a period of a week.
