Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia, have been safely moved from Qatar to another country, Ghanaian diplomatic sources confirmed.
The relocation was arranged by Ghanaian embassies in the region, following direct instructions from Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The Minister instructed Ghana’s diplomatic teams to take immediate action to ensure the safety of the former Vice President, his wife, and their entourage.
Embassy staff worked with local authorities to organise the move discreetly and efficiently. While exact details are being kept private for security reasons, officials say everything went smoothly.
The Ghanaian government and the Foreign Affairs Ministry are also working to protect all Ghanaians living in, or travelling through, the Middle East.
Embassies remain on high alert, ready to provide help and emergency support whenever needed.
