Ghana confirms 27 new Mpox cases, total infections now 494

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 27 new cases of Mpox, pushing the country’s total number of infections to 494.

In its latest update, recorded on Monday, September 1, 2025, the GHS revealed that one patient is currently receiving treatment.

This marks a steady increase from previous reports on August 28, 21 new cases were recorded, raising the total to 467.

Earlier, on August 25, 22 new infections brought the cumulative figure to 446.

Health officials have reiterated that Mpox spreads primarily through close contact with an infected person. Common symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, and a characteristic skin rash.

The GHS is urging the public to stay vigilant, maintain proper hygiene, and seek immediate medical care if any symptoms appear.
