Ghana Armed Forces opens 2025–2026 Military Academy intake

The Ghana Armed Forces has opened applications for the 2025–2026 intake into the Ghana Military Academy, inviting qualified young Ghanaians to pursue officer careers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The recruitment window is open until Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and targets individuals with strong academic backgrounds, physical readiness, and a desire to serve the nation.

In a public notice, GAF outlined strict entry requirements, including Ghanaian citizenship by birth, good conduct, and full medical fitness.

Applicants for the Regular Officer Cadet course must be unmarried, between 18 and 26 years old by March 31, 2026, and must meet height standards of 1.68 metres for men and 1.60 metres for women.

The Armed Forces also highlighted the importance of verified academic records, noting that only original certificates will be accepted during documentation.

A GAF representative encouraged applicants to approach the process with integrity, adding, “We want committed and disciplined young men and women who are ready to serve this country with honour”.

The recruitment covers a broad range of specialisations. The Army seeks officers for engineering, logistics, infantry, signals, public relations, and agricultural extension, among others.

Candidates with technical or scientific backgrounds, including cybersecurity, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering, stand out.

The Navy and Air Force are also recruiting for operational, engineering, administrative, and support roles, with aviation licence holders gaining an advantage.

Healthcare workers, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, laboratory scientists, and psychologists, are encouraged to apply under categories with higher age limits.

The call also extends to chaplains and imams who meet the required qualifications and have recognised religious leadership.

Applicants must begin the process by purchasing an electronic voucher for 250 Ghana cedis from selected Post Offices and completing their forms online before the deadline.
