GFA to invest over GH¢3m on footballs for clubs – Kurt Okraku

The Ghana Football Association has announced plans to invest over GHS 3 million in providing footballs to clubs in the topflight and lower divisions for the new season starting in September.

This initiative, which began last season, aims to support the development of clubs and ease the financial burden of acquiring equipment.

At the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence, President Kurt Okraku revealed the GFA’s collaboration with FIFA to invest $100,000 in purchasing footballs for grassroots development.

“Football is all about balls. So our strategic plan to collaborate with FIFA to invest $100,000 in the purchase of football for grassroots football development will be repeated.”

The GFA’s plan includes an additional $100,000 investment specifically targeted at colt clubs, reinforcing the association’s dedication to nurturing young talent and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

The Congress, which began on Monday, August 26, is expected to conclude today, setting the stage for the 2024/25 Ghana football season.
