GFA revoke match venue license of Liberty Professionals
The Club Licensing Board of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revoked the license that permits Liberty Professionals’ use of the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park as a venue for home fixtures.
Prior to the start of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season, the board handed all 18 clubs a temporal license while charging the club to meet certain requirements.
The board, after a mid-season inspection of some match venues on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, revoked the Match Venue License of Dansoman based Liberty Professional FC, after it uncovered that certain requirements have not been met.
According to a communique on the website of the GFA, West African Football Academy, on the other hand, were granted a full license after duly complying with the requirements.
The Club Licensing Department is set to complete the spot–check inspection of match venues on Monday, March 8, 2021, after which further decisions will be taken on the STATUS of LICENCES for various clubs.
Venues to be inspected are as follows;
- – DREAMS FC – THEATRE OF DREAMS, DAWU
- – TECHIMAN ELEVEN WONDERS – NANA OHENE AMEYAW PARK, TECHIMAN
- – KING FAISAL FC – NANA OHENE AMEYAW, TECHIMAN
- – BECHEM UNITED – BECHEM PARK, BECHEM
- – BEREKUM CHELSEA – GOLDEN CITY PARK, BEREKUM
Meanwhile, Liberty Professional FC is the first club to have its Match Venue License revoked as the Club Licensing Department began the spot–check inspection on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
