The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited media organisations to present their tender for the media rights of the upcoming premier league season.

The right which is expected to cover television and radio would be for their flagship product, the Ghana Premier League as well as Division One League, the Women’s Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Women’s FA Cup.

Bidding which is expected to end by Tuesday, December 10 allows bidders to either bid for all the marketing assets listed above or any combination of them.

Winner of this bid is expected to replace StarTimes who until the truncation of the Premier League in 2018 held the media rights of the local league.

It is unclear what whether the GFA has terminated their contract with the Chinese electronics and Media Company after both sides entered into a contractual agreement with StarTimes.

Under the 10-year contract worth $17.9m, the Chinese company had the right to broadcast the local league, the FA Cup as well as the Women’s league and their FA Cup.
