The Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association has responded to the Court of Arbitration for Sports about the disqualification of Ghana Football Association presidential hopeful Wilfred Kwaku Osei Palmer.

The Swiss based adjudicatory body instructed the Normalization Committee in a letter last Friday to respond to claims of disqualification by president of Tema Youth Wilfred Osei Palmer.

A deadline of 10 am swiss time was given for the Football Association to comply which they have done.

Palmer was disqualified for breaching article 35(5) the GFA regulation with regards to the transfer of his player Joseph Paintsil to Belgian side RC Genk and also comments about unclassified payments made to referees during the last World Cup qualifiers.

The disgruntled aspirant prayed the august court to restrain the Normalization Committee from going ahead with the presidential elections after lodging complaints with Fifa and the Sports Ministry.

CAS has requested a written response from the ad-hoc football governing body before making a decision on the elections which is scheduled to come off on the 25th October 2019.

Wilfred Osei Palmer was among other six presidential hopefuls namely Messrs George Afriyie, Nana Yaw Amponsah,Fred Pappoe, George Ankomah, Kurt E.S Okraku and Amanda Clinton who filed to contest the GFA presidency but was disqualified after vetting.
