GFA elections: Amanda Clinton concedes saying delegates want football people to the sport
Amanda Clinton, a Ghana Football Association presidential hopeful has conceded after securing no votes in the ongoing elections in Accra.
None of the one hundred and twenty delegates voted for her.
“I am very okay with the decision and like I said, I am very humbled to have taken part of the process, it is clear football people want football people to manage their football,” Amanda said.
The election has entered its second round after none of the six (6) candidates secured the required fifty (50) plus one (1) votes to qualify as the GFA president.
Another candidate, George Ankomah Mensah also polled 0 votes.
Dreams FC CEO Kurt Okraku and George Afriyie polled 44 and 40 votes respectfully.
Yaw Amponsah also managed to poll 27 votes.
Former deputy GFA President, Fred Pappoe secured a paltry 6 votes.
He has however withdrawn from the second round.
Meanwhile, the election has entered its third round after the candidates failed yet again to secure the required 50% plus one vote.
The two front runners, Kurt Okraku and George Afriyie polled 59 and 43 votes respectively. They are to face off in the third round.
