GES opens applications for promotion of teaching staff

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that applications are now open for the promotion of teaching staff to various ranks, including Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.

In a statement signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director-General (MS), GES highlighted the importance of meeting the qualification timelines for applicants.

“An applicant should have been promoted to the required rank in or before 2020 and should have been continuously at post since the date (except for approved leave of absence),” the circular explained.

GES also stressed that those applying with Master’s or PhD degrees need to ensure their programs are included in the GES-approved course list.

“The Master’s/PhD certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion. Applicants who wish to use the Master’s/PhD certificate for ADI, ADII and Deputy Director promotion should have obtained their certificate in or before 2022,” the notice stated.

Regarding the application process, GES instructed teachers to submit their applications online.

“An applicant should complete the application form online via https://bit.ly/gespromotions2025 or scan the QR code provided.

All documents uploaded must be in PDF (except passport pictures) and should be clear and legible,” it noted.
