GES dismisses Adutwum’s claims over 2025 WASSCE results

The Ghana Education Service has firmly rejected claims made by former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum about the performance of candidates in the 2025 WASSCE.

His suggestion that the results were affected by unsupportive management practices within the Service has been met with strong pushback.

In a statement released on December 1, GES described the comments as misleading and urged the public to dismiss them. According to the Service, no teacher allowances have been cancelled.

The Controller and Accountant Generals Department has already explained the recent delay in November payments, and GES maintains that this clarification should settle the matter.

Officials say the former Minister’s remarks only distract from the real issue, which is the effort made by students and teachers throughout the academic year.

The Service stressed that the 2025 WASSCE results are a true reflection of candidates’ academic abilities. It added that the examination process was supported by strong supervision and close monitoring across all centres to safeguard integrity.

GES believes these measures helped maintain confidence in the national assessment.

GES also appealed to the public to rely on verified information when discussing education.

Officials say the consistent spread of inaccurate claims can undermine trust in the system and affect students who have worked tirelessly to earn their results.

The statement, signed by Daniel Fenyie, Head of Public Relations at GES, reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to protecting the credibility of national examinations and supporting learners across the country.
