The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has condemned the inhumane treatment meted out to a woman by a group in the Upper East Region.
According to the ministry, the adverse consequences of violence on women and girls in relation to their health, psychological and emotional well-being compromise and undermine their development, and this must not be encouraged.
In a press release, the ministry said, “Violence against women and girls is not justified and must not be tolerated no matter where, how and who committed the offence.
“The Ministry strongly condemns this cruel, brutal, and barbaric act meted out to the young lady. This act is a blatant breach of her human rights and dignity and is thus punishable by law”.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested four suspects at Kupelga in the Upper East Region in connection with the viral video.
