Gbese Homowo Charity Cup Match Cancelled

The highly anticipated 2023 Gbese Homowo Charity Cup clash between the two traditional clubs within the Greater Accra region, Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics, has been cancelled just a day before the showdown.

The decision came after a late withdrawal from the said match by Accra Great Olympics.

Great Olympics are yet to disclose the reasons behind their sudden withdrawal from the tournament.

The match was initially slated to take place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium as an integral component of the Gas’ annual Homowo festival celebrations.

The possibility of rescheduling the game for a later date remains uncertain.

The Homowo cup match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics scheduled for Sunday, August 20, 2023, has been called off.

This development has been necessitated by a late withdrawal from the said match by Accra Great Olympics.

We apologise unreservedly to Nii Dr Ayi Bonte- Gbese Mantsethe Ghana Football Association, Accra Hearts of Oak SC, the media, and all football enthusiasts for this unfortunate development.
