GBA Disciplinary Committee summons Patrick Allotey
World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Super Welterweight Champion, Patrick Allotey, has received a formal invitation to appear before the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for punching a football fan at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In the letter sent on Tuesday, the boxer is summoned to appear before the Disciplinary Committee of the GBA on Wednesday, February 5.
In a video that went viral on social media, Allotey was seen jabbing the face of a football fan during the epic sixth-week clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
As a professional boxer, Allotey is bared from fighting outside the ring which means his action over the weekend, subjects him to charges of professional misconduct.
He is likely to face a ban by the GBA, as well as a possible revocation of his license.
The boxer has since rendered an unqualified apology to the fan and the entire nation.
