At the 33rd Arab League Summit In Bahrain

Gaza Is Part Of Palestine, King Of Morocco

The King’s statement read out by Prime Minister Aziz  Ahkannouch at the 33rd Arab League Summit in Manama, Bahrain, stresses Morrocco’s aversion to Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the wider Middle East region. King Mohammed VI’s speech urged the Arab world to be steadfast behind Palestinians for lasting peace, stability, and a just system in the Middle East region.

”The current reprisals in the Gaza Strip have revealed grave violations that are at odds with provisions of international humanitarian law. I therefore reiterate my strong condemnation of the killing of innocent people.” King Mohammed stated unequivocally and frontally to the warmongers in the Middle East.

He noted that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of Palestinian territories and of the unified Palestinian State. Referring to his current role as ”The chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and working closely with Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine,” he would exert all possible efforts to preserve the legal, historical, and cultural status of the Holy City.”

Morocco stood by dialogue against military solutions in conflicts within the Arab community but said that would be difficult to achieve without absolute solidarity and joint action by its members.

The divisiveness among the five members of the Arab Maghreb in the North of Africa is considered by Morocco as a blot on unity which called for the free movement of people, goods, and services within the union.

The King’s proactive stance on the youth was evident as he stressed education, training, and job opportunities for them.

Finally, he thanked his hosts, particularly King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for inviting him to the important summit.
