The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is set to host the first edition of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEC 2022) at the Burma Hall in Burma Camp on the theme: “Strengthening International Collaboration to Combat Terrorism and Transnational Organized Crimes”.
The conference is scheduled from October 11 to October 12, 2022.
The Great Minds Events LLC (GM) and the Gulf of Guinea Maritime Institute (GOGMI) partnered the programme.
The objective is to deliberate on the growing threat of terrorism and other transnational crimes that pose significant security concerns in Africa.
Delegates are expected to come from the top hierarchy of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), government, law enforcement agencies, academia, military solution providers and other stakeholders in the defence industry from Africa and beyond.
Terrorism on the continent of Africa has been rising sharply over the decade.
Non-state terrorist groups, militias, and rebel groups have increasingly targeted civilians in their campaigns of violence.
From Somalia to Mali and Nigeria to Mozambique, the continent has repeatedly witnessed grisly acts of violence targeting its civilian populations.
The IDEC is set to devise strategic solutions to combat terrorism and transnational organized crimes.
