GAF restarts Accra recruitment on November 20

The Ghana Armed Forces will restart the suspended 2025 and 2026 recruitment screening for the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, November 20 2025.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin of the Ghana Navy, who serves as the Acting Director General of Public Relations.

According to the statement, the screening will now take place across eight sub-centres within five major locations.

This arrangement is intended to create a safer and more organised process for the thousands of young people eager to join the national service.

Each qualified applicant will receive a text message with a confirmed reporting date, batch number, and assigned centre. The message will also guide them on what to bring and how to prepare before arrival.

The designated centres include two screening points at El Wak Stadium, two at Nicholson Park in Burma Camp, the Air Force Base at Burma Camp, two centres at the Training and Doctrine Command in Teshie, and the Eastern Naval Command in Tema.

Applicants have been encouraged to follow every instruction in their messages and to keep checking the recruitment portal for updates.

In a gentle reminder to families, the statement stressed that applicants must arrive alone since non-applicants will not be allowed at the venues.

Those who do not receive their text message by November 20 can contact the official helpline or use the WhatsApp number provided for assistance.

Captain Arhin noted that the safety of applicants remains a priority, stating, “We want every candidate to go through the process in a safe, calm, and orderly environment, which is why these new arrangements have been introduced.”

The exercise was placed on hold after a tragic stampede earlier in the process. A Board of Inquiry is still reviewing the incident, and the Greater Accra recruitment team has since been replaced with new leadership to support transparency and accountability.
