GAF dismisses viral audio alleging ammunition transfer

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed a viral audio alleging that a civil pick-up truck was allowed entry into the Magazine of the 5 Battalion of Infantry to move ammunition to an unknown location.

In a statement, the GAF said the claims are false and should be disregarded.

It explained that the said pick-up truck was there to deliver a live cow.

“GAF wishes to assure the public that the information on the said audio is false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves,” the statement read.

The Ghana Armed Forces urges the public to verify information about the security services before sharing as “such actions tend to create unnecessary tension and also cause fear and panic in the country”.

It further reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the stability and sovereignty of the nation.
