The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has issued a formal apology following an operational issue at Kotoka International Airport’s Terminal 2 on Monday, April 7, 2025.

The issue caused an unexpected delay for passengers arriving on Passion Air flight 143 from Kumasi at 7:56 AM, who were temporarily stranded due to a locked door at the main arrival gate, preventing access to the domestic arrival hall.

GACL’s management expressed sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to passengers, acknowledging the disruption in normal passenger flow at the airport.

The company assured the public that the cause of the issue is being thoroughly investigated, with corrective measures to be implemented to avoid future occurrences.

“The cause of the hitch is under investigation, and appropriate action will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen again,” the GACL statement read. Despite the brief nature of the incident, it raised concerns about the efficiency of airport operations and passenger experience.

GACL reiterated its commitment to ensuring high standards of operational efficiency and customer service at all terminals across the country.
