Asante Kotoko has unveiled Frederick Asare as its new captain, taking over from Ibrahim Danlad who the club released following the expiration of his contract.
Midfielder Justice Blay will serve as Asare’s deputy, providing support in his new role as vice-captain.
The club’s statement congratulated both players on their appointments, highlighting their importance to the team.
Goalkeeper Frederick Asare has been voted as the new skipper of the club, he will be assisted by Justice Blay who came second in the voting exercise.

Meanwhile, Asare has received a call-up to the Black Stars squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
As the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season approaches, Asante Kotoko is gearing up for a title challenge, having finished sixth last season with 49 points.
The team has bolstered its squad with new signings and will begin the season with an away match against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
