The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a warning to applicants participating in their current recruitment process to be wary of fraudsters.
In a social media post, the service clarified that no updates have been sent to applicants regarding the process yet.
It urged applicants to report all suspicious recruitment schemes to its office and the Ghana police.
“Fraudsters are targeting applicants with fake recruitment schemes. The Ghana National Fire Service has not reached the medical stage of recruitment yet.
“Official updates on the recruitment will be published on our website and social media platforms. Please stay vigilant, report any scams to us and the police immediately for action,” GNFS said.
On August 7, 2024, the GNFS announced enlistment and recruitment in the service for those who purchased application forms in 2021.
In a notice published in national dailies, the service asked qualified applicants to submit specific details to their recruitment email address to proceed with the process.
The deadline for submitting the requested details, however, expired on Tuesday, August 13, 2024
The three security services require applicants to be Ghanaian by birth, of good character, without a criminal record, and must not have been dismissed from any public service or other employment.
Applicants were also physically and medically fit.
Meanwhile, the services warned applicants against dealing with middlemen or agents, noting that any involvement in such activities is at the applicant’s own risk and may lead to arrest and prosecution.
