Four persons have so far been arrested in connection with the recent Ablekuma bullion van robbery.
The fourth suspect, a Nigerian, was arrested at Asigame market in Lome, the capital of Togo, on Saturday, July 15.
A statement from the police said all four suspects are currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Ablekuma bullion van robbery occurred on June 14, 2023, resulting in the tragic death of Corporal Callistus Amoah, who was fatally shot during the attack.
The incident unfolded when a group of armed assailants targeted the van in an attempt to steal its contents.
However, their efforts were foiled when law enforcement authorities intercepted them.
The deceased officer has since been laid to rest. The somber ceremony was attended by family, friends, colleagues, and members of the community, who paid their respects and mourned the loss of a dedicated officer.
Meanwhile, the three suspects arrested earlier have been remanded by the Kaneshie District Court.
They face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
