The police in Nyinahin, located in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, have arrested four young men following a routine early morning patrol.
The operation led to the uncovering of a locally made pistol and other dangerous weapons hidden within a sack.
The individuals arrested include Iddrisu Abubakar, 22; Fuseni Adam, 25; Yakubu Ishmeal, 18; and Hakim Abubakar, 16, all residents of Tamale.
They were taken into custody at approximately 5:27 a.m. on December 9, 2025.
According to police sources, the officers were patrolling the vicinity of Antwi Adjei around 3:00 a.m. when they stopped a Sprinter bus.
Upon searching, they discovered a sack belonging to the four suspects, which contained one locally manufactured pistol, two cartridges, two cutlasses, and various talismans.
Authorities indicate that initial evaluations imply the suspects may be linked to several armed robbery cases that have occurred in the Nkawie area.
The four individuals are currently at the Nyinahin Police Station, and plans are being made to transfer them to the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit in Kumasi for further investigation.
