Former NPP constituency women organizer dies in accident

A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Organiser for the Bolgatanga Central constituency, Esther Lariba Atia, has died in an accident.

The accident occurred on Sunday, July 25, 2021, near the Volta River Authority (VRA) office on the Bolgatanga-Navrongo highway.

According to witnesses, Madam Atia was driving a vehicle with registration number GE 9423-10 when a motor rider crossed her car.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, she veered off the road which resulted in a crash.

She died on the spot.

“The vehicle veered off the road and somersaulted into a nearby bush, landing upside-down,” the eyewitness narrated.

Madam Atia was also the Vice Principal for the Bolgatanga Technical Institute in charge of administration.

The injured motor rider was rushed to the Bolgatanga Government Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

The body of the late principal has also been deposited at the hospital for postmortem and preservation.
