Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, former Administrative Manager of Asante Kotoko, has recently clarified the circumstances surrounding his departure from the club after four years of service.

Dasoberi revealed that he did not resign, as previously reported, but rather sought permission from the Manhyia Palace to pursue a new opportunity with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a Professional Football Manager.

In an interview with Peace FM, Dasoberi clarified that he prefers a more accurate description of his departure, stating

I would have liked you to use a different word because I can’t resign from the work Otumfuo has given me to do.

He emphasized that he requested permission to continue his work elsewhere, rather than resigning from his post.

Dasoberi further explained that his new role with CAF would ultimately benefit Asante Kotoko and Ghanaian football.

The work I am going to do will bring a lot of things to Kotoko and Ghana, he added.

Dasoberi also reassured fans that his departure is not a permanent goodbye, expressing his desire to return to the club in the future.

He hinted at a potential comeback, leaving the door open for a future reunion with Asante Kotoko.”
