Former Hohoe MP passes on
Former Member of Parliament for Hohoe, Bernice Adiku Heloo, has reportedly passed on.
She died on Wednesday, December 25, after a brief illness.
Heloo represented the Hohoe Constituency in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of Ghana’s 4th Republic from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2021.
Apart from her parliamentary role, Heloo was a strong advocate for women’s health and empowerment. She served as the president of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa and founded Prolink, a Ghanaian non-governmental organization focused on social development.
Her passing has left the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region in mourning.
While regional executives have confirmed the news, an official statement is yet to be issued.
Heloo’s legacy is marked by her tireless efforts to promote women’s rights and social development.
