The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has recently appointed Godwin Attram, a former Black Stars player, as the new head coach for the national under-21 male team.

He will be accompanied by Nana Yaw Amankwah and Abdul Manaf Abubakar as his assistants in his new role in charge of the newly-formed national team.

“As the Ghana Football Association takes steps to strengthen the developmental structures for youth football development, the Association has appointed Godwin Attram as the Head Coach of the newly established U21 national team.

“This strategic decision aligns with Ghana’s Football Philosophy (DNA) launched in 2023, which aims at nurturing young talent and building a culture of excellence from grassroots level to the national stage.

“Attram will be assisted by Nana Yaw Amankwah while Abdul Manaf Abubakar serves as the Physiotherapist for the team,” a communique from the GFA said on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian Football Association (GFA) has recently established the U21 national team to keep track of promising young talents as they advance from the youth national teams to the senior national team.

The GFA believes that the creation of these national teams will help identify and nurture talent in Ghana’s football scene.
