Former Asante Kotoko forward Songne Yacouba joins Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC

A former Asante Kotoko striker, Songne Yacouba, has reportedly joined Tanzanian club Young Africans SC in the ongoing transfer window.

The club confirmed the signing of the 28-year-old Burkinabé through social media. However, details over the move including transfer fee and the contract have not been disclosed.

Yacouba has been unattached since April after rejecting contract extension talks with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

He signed a two-year deal with Dar es Salaam based club after fruitful negotiations for his acquisition and is expected to move to Tanzania from his native country, Burkina Faso in the coming days for his official announcement.

Yacouba became Asante Kotoko fans favourite during their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign where he scored two goals with five assists.
His outstanding performance secured the club a place in the group stages of the competition where he was chased by several clubs including Simba SC, Nkana FC, Zesco United, Al Hilal,  Zamalek, Al Ahly and others.
His signing is a boost for the Young Africans team, who lost one of their key players, Ghanaian forward Bernard Morrison, to arch-rivals Simba SC a few days ago.
Yacouba was one of the highly-rated forwards in the Ghana Premier League during his stint at Asante Kotoko.
