The Ghana Football Association has announced the first round of fixtures for the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League season.
The new season is expected to commence on the weekend of Friday, September 9 to Monday, September 12 across the country.
The announced fixtures will have the reigning champions, Asante Kotoko SC begins their title defence at home while bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak make a trip with an away fixture.
The Porcupine Warriors will welcome debutants Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, while Hearts of Oak travel to Dormaa to face former champions Aduana FC at the Agyeman Badu Park, a match that could be rated as the main event of the week one.
Some other intriguing fixtures to watch include Real Tamale United hosting newcomers FC Samartex, Great Olympics engaging last season’s FA Cup finalist Bechem United in a fierce battle.
The only Eastern regional representative, Kotoku Royals FC will play their first ever Premier League game at home against Accra Lions FC.
The first super clash of the season between two of the most successful clubs in Ghana, Kotoko and Hearts, is scheduled for matchday 3 in Kumasi.
‘Due to Television broadcast schedules, Match dates for the respective fixtures would be made public in due course,” GFA announced.
