The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued victims following a truck accident at Asukawkaw in the Oti Region.
The incident involved a Scania truck that was travelling from Benin to Nkawkaw when it was involved in an accident near the Asukawkaw stretch.
The Ghana National Fire Service shared details of the response on its official social media page on Sunday, December 28, 2025, drawing public attention to the swift action taken by its officers.
Personnel from the Pai Katanga Fire Post were immediately dispatched to the scene after the alert was received.
On arrival, the team focused on securing the area and preventing further danger to other road users while working to assist those trapped in the vehicle.
Their quick intervention ensured that the driver and his mate were safely rescued.
The operation was led by Sub Officer John Justice Kpego, who coordinated the safety procedures at the scene.
In total, three occupants of the truck were rescued and transported to the Worawora Government Hospital for medical care.
Fire officers also worked to clear the road to restore normal traffic flow and reduce the risk of secondary accidents in the area.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
