Fire ravages three shops in Ho
A devastating fire outbreak occurred on Friday, January 10, 2025, along the Ahoe-Stadium Road in Ho, Volta Region, destroying three shops.
The fire, fueled by harmattan winds, ravaged the wooden shops, which included an electrical shop, a plastic ware shop, and another stocked with packs of water and drinks.
The Volta Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Joy Ayim Ameyibor, praised his team’s timely intervention, which prevented the fire from spreading to other nearby structures.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
However, an eyewitness attributed the fire to a domestic incident in a nearby wooden kitchen, where someone allegedly left a coal fire unattended.
The incident caused a temporary halt in vehicular traffic along the stretch, leaving business owners distraught as they watched their investments worth thousands of Ghana Cedis go up in flames.
