Fire guts Kwapong Nursing Training College

A fire has severely damaged sections of the Kwapong Nursing Training College located in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region.

Students could be seen fleeing to safety while firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service endeavoured to control the flames.

The cause of the fire remains unknown; however, officials have stated that investigations are currently in progress to ascertain the cause of the incident.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties, but the full extent of the property damage has yet to be evaluated.

This event has instigated panic among both students and staff, leading to an emergency response from local security and fire authorities.

This comes after a fire outbreak at the China City Mall near the Santasi roundabout in Kumasi on Thursday destroyed property worth millions of Ghana cedis.

The fire reportedly started around 4 pm, bringing commercial activities in the mall to a halt.

The new mall was opened recently for business.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the distress call to battle the fire.

All persons in the mall at the time of the fire outbreak escaped unhurt.

However, many items in the mall were burnt.
