Fire Destroys Quantum Gas Station Near TOR

Source The Ghana Report

A fire outbreak was recorded at the Quantum Gas booster station, located near the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) pipelines, on Friday morning.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown.

The affected pipeline plays a crucial role in discharging all Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) destined for the Tema Port, a vital hub for gas distribution.

Initial reports suggested that the fire occurred while Quantum Gas was transferring gas from vessels at the Tema Port to the booster station for further distribution to terminals in the surrounding area.

Emergency response teams, including firefighters, swiftly arrived at the scene to combat the blaze and bring the situation under control.

Fortunately, no significant damage was reported, according to managers of TOR.

“The situation is under control. There has not been any damage recorded yet. We are waiting for the investigation to commence and be completed for us to know if there’s been any potential damage to the line,” Matilda Adjoa Frempah, the Public Relations Officer for TOR, said.

She emphasized that the fire’s occurrence would not disrupt operations at TOR, assuring the public that the product would be distributed as scheduled.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to determine the root cause of the fire, and authorities are committed to ensuring the safety of the affected infrastructure and the continued supply of LPG to the market.
