Feel free to copy our manifesto – NPP tells NDC
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given the opposition National Democratic Congress the green light to take cues from its manifesto.
The party’s General Secretary, John Boadu, is convinced that their rivals have no “fresh ideas” to present to Ghanaians.
“The NDC announced two months ago that their manifesto is ready but they have not been able to launch, obviously, they are waiting for us to launch our manifesto.
“They want to copy as usual, since they have no original ideas. Well, we have launched so they are free to copy,” Mr Boadu said at the party’s manifesto launch.
The event is taking place at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region.
The manifesto launch is being hosted virtually due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the launch, the General Secretary of the party said the drafting of the document containing their policies, was supervised by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He said the manifesto contains important programmes that will spur development and transform Ghana.
The party recently inaugurated a nine-member planning committee for the launch of the manifesto.
The committee was chaired by Oboshie Sai Coffie, and includes Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Sammi Awuku, Lord Commey, Evron Hughes, Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah, Collins Nuamah, Robert Kutin Jnr, Kate Gyamfua and Abibata Shanni Mahama.
