A tragic road accident at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region has claimed one life and left several others critically injured after two commercial vehicles collided head-on.
The crash involved a Ford vehicle (AW 3264-21) and a Toyota Hiace minibus (AS 3552-20) and was described by eyewitnesses as severe.
According to witnesses, the Toyota Hiace, which was travelling towards Kumasi, allegedly lost control while speeding and veered into the path of the Ford vehicle heading from Kumasi towards Ejisu.
The violent impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and left many passengers with serious injuries, including two senior high school students who were on their way to school at the time.
All injured passengers were rushed to Living Waters Hospital for treatment, where one victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
An eyewitness, Michael Asante, said several of the victims suffered broken limbs.
“Many of the passengers were injured, some with broken hands and legs. All the seats in the car were damaged,” he said.
