Three persons tragically lost their lives in a fatal crash on the George Walker Bush Highway in Accra, on Sunday, July 2.
The unfortunate incident occurred when a 23-seater Sprinter Bus, en route from Ablekuma to Kasoa, experienced a sudden burst tire, causing the vehicle to somersault multiple times.
Alongside the fatalities, numerous passengers suffered varying degrees of injury during the harrowing crash.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus had been traveling at a top speed before the tire burst, leading to the devastating accident near Awoshie Water Works.
Despite the chaos that ensued, the driver managed to escape unharmed. However, in a bid to evade responsibility, the driver attempted to flee the scene.
Fortunately, law enforcement officers acted swiftly, apprehending the driver and preventing his escape.
Meanwhile, the police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the crash to determine the exact cause and ascertain any potential factors contributing to the tragedy.
The injured persons were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
