A tragic accident involving a VIP Yutong bus and a trailer at the Asankare Barrier in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region has resulted in the loss of two lives.
The accident, which occurred on Saturday night, also left several individuals injured, some with fractured limbs.
Reports indicate that the VIP bus, bearing registration number GE 6167-19, was travelling from Accra to Kumasi when it collided head-on with the trailer en route to Accra.
The circumstances leading to the VIP bus veering off its lane and causing the collision remain unclear.
The deceased persons have been transported to the Juaso Government Hospital morgue for preservation.
Personnel from the Motor, Traffic, and Transport Department (MTTD) and the Ghana National Fire Service stationed at Juaso responded swiftly to assist the injured persons.
The wounded persons are receiving treatment at the Juaso Government Hospital.
