GCB Bank has announced the appointment of Farihan Alhassan as its new managing director, following the departure of Mr. Kofi Adomako.
The transition comes after a “mutual and amicable agreement” between Mr. Adomako and the bank, according to an official statement.
At just 44 years old, Mr. Alhassan brings a wealth of experience, with over two decades in the banking sector.
His extensive expertise is expected to propel GCB Bank toward greater innovation and customer-centric growth.
Before joining GCB Bank, Mr. Alhassan served as the Executive in Charge of Business and Commercial Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana.
In this role, he was instrumental in enhancing customer engagement and driving support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a critical segment of Ghana’s economy.
Mr. Alhassan began his career at Barclays Bank (now Absa), where he achieved notable success as the youngest regional manager at the age of 26.
He later rose to become the Head of Retail and Distribution, solidifying his reputation as a transformative leader in the industry.
His appointment signals a new chapter for GCB Bank, with expectations that his leadership will focus on delivering innovative solutions and strengthening the bank’s position in the market.
