Kudjoe Fianoo, the President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has revealed that the winner of the 2024 FA Cup final will have the opportunity to compete in the 2024 Top 4 competition.

Bofoakwa Tano and Nsoatreman FC did not finish in the top four of the Ghana Premier League but the winner of Sunday’s final will be offered a spot on the competition.

The annual competition, which aims to keep teams in shape for their early games in Africa, will be held once again this year.

Fianoo has also confirmed the participation of the Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex.

“The top three teams in the league, Samartex FC, Accra Lions, and Berekum Chelsea, along with the winner of the FA Cup, will make up this year’s top four,” Fianoo revealed during an interview with Akoma FM.

While the venue for the competition has yet to be finalized, Fianoo mentioned that the New TNA Stadium in Tarkwa is the preferred location, with the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi being considered as an alternative.

“We have already sent a letter to the New Tarkwa TNA Stadium administration as our first choice venue, and the Baba Yara Stadium as an alternative venue,” Fianoo added.

The competition is scheduled to take place in either the first or second week of August 2024. In the Ghana Premier League, Nsoatreman finished fifth, while Bofoakwa Tano faced relegation after finishing in the 17th position.
