Everybody wants GFA EXCO position but nobody wants GHALCA EXCO’s- Kudjoe Fianoo

Kudjoe Fianoo, Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) President, believes that one of the critical ones is the  executive members leaving for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee rather than staying with the GHALCA Executive Committee.

“The reasons abound (but) GHALCA activities are not as vibrant as the GFA also everybody wants to go to GFA EXCO and now the (GFA) EXCO is on (a monthly) salary, a regular allowance and everybody wants to work in a managing committee or any other committees that are more rewarding than GHALCA’s so everybody’s interest is where you get your money” he said in an exclusive interview .

He added that this can be attributed to individual interests and there’s nothing that can be done to stop the mass movement.

“I would not say it is a disconnect but people’s interest. As I said, clubs are represented by individuals so the individuals will like to arrive at the destination which is conducive to him.”

The GHALCA President, who is set to leave his post later month, suggested that that the new administration can prevent this by changing the election period of the GHALCA EXCO to stem the mass exit. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I hope the coming tenure will change it during their time is; which is our elections. GHALCA is going to have elections this month and GFA’s is two years from today. Before I joined the EXCO of GHALCA, anytime nominations are open for GFA elections, you will get two or more GHALCA EXCO members resigning to contest the GFA elections.”
