Evatex Logistics Limited gives GACL 7-day ultimatum to restore contract

Evatex Logistics Limited has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), demanding the reversal of the termination of their revenue assurance contract; otherwise, they will pursue legal action.

In their response, facilitated by their legal team at K-Archy, Evatex deemed the termination letter sent by GACL on August 1 as unjustified and unreasonable, claiming that the decision was made in bad faith.

The letter from GACL’s Managing Director, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, instructed Evatex to vacate the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) cargo premises by August 27, 2025.

This termination was allegedly based on a lack of evidence indicating revenue concealment or recovery since Evatex commenced operations within the cargo section, which purportedly resulted in no payments to the company.

In a strongly worded letter, Evatex expressed its astonishment at the termination. They argued that they had already initiated work, provided necessary reports for action, and made significant capital investments totalling US$64.6 million in infrastructure specifically designed for GACL.

“Our client considers the intention to terminate the said contract as actuated by bad faith and unreasonableness. The purported termination is unacceptable. Given the foregoing, and in the spirit of seeking an amicable settlement, our client instructs us to inform you to withdraw the said letter within seven days of receipt, or we shall be compelled to institute legal action to recover the capital investments and seek other reliefs”.

Additionally, Evatex’s contract is currently under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor amid allegations linking it to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML), which is embroiled in controversy over multi-million-dollar revenue assurance contracts with the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority.
