ENI completes major gas upgrade

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a critical gas infrastructure upgrade by ENI, significantly increasing Ghana’s daily gas supply.

The upgrade raises production capacity from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd, an important milestone in Ghana’s ongoing efforts to secure a stable, sustainable energy future.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a major step toward ensuring reliable and sustainable energy for the nation,” the Ministry said in an official statement released on Monday, July 14.

The increased gas output is expected to strengthen Ghana’s power generation capacity, providing a vital boost to industrial growth and economic development.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation to ENI and all stakeholders in the energy sector for their dedication in successfully delivering the project.

It also extended gratitude to the Ghanaian public for their patience and support throughout the upgrade process.

“Your continued support is invaluable as we work together to build a brighter energy future,” the statement noted.

Signed by Richmond Rockson, Esq., Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry, the release reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering consistent, dependable power to all Ghanaians.

It also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in driving national development and long-term energy security.
